Panoramic station on Birkhouse Moor, a path trends down east for this cairn as toward Ullswater and is quickly lost, whereupon veer pathless right.
November 28th – Spotted last Monday a valuable off beat way to the summit of Birkhouse Moor branching from the regular Mires Beck path above the sheepfold. You can see two walkers descending from the eastern brink of the fell evading bracken and outcropping (see below).
